Francis (Bob) Louis Slaughter's Obituary
Francis Louis “Bob” Slaughter, 83, of Spotsylvania, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob is best remembered as a loving husband and father, but his other interests included operating his ham radio every day for 60 years until illness prevented him from pursuing his passion. He worked for NBC Channel 4 in Washington DC as a Broadcast Engineer for most of his life until his retirement. He was an avid baseball fan and could be found watching a game and relaxing when it was time to sign off his ham radio.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Slaughter, of Spotsylvania; a son, Wayne Robert Slaughter and his wife Monica of New Hampshire; one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Slaughter of Spotsylvania, and one grandchild, Lauren Elizabeth Slaughter of New Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in his name to the SPCA of Fredericksburg at 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
