Frances Powell Jones' Obituary
Frances P. Jones, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in Lynchburg, VA on January 20, 1935, and lived most of her life in King George, VA.
Frances worked many years at G.C. Murphy’s Warehouse on Lansdowne Rd. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 35 years and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in King George.
Frances is survived by four children, Michael Wray (Barbara), Steve Wray (Linda), Linda Wray (Edward), and Tina Wray (Nick); five grandchildren, Kristen Knight, Christopher Wray, Jason Wray, Jennifer Middleton, and Jessica Wray; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon E. Powell and Thelma D. Powell; her husband, Daniel E. Jones; and four siblings, Vernon E. Powell, Jr., Willie Ora P. Lucado, Raymond Gordon Powell (Doris Powell), and William C. Wray.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 in the Confederate Cemetery of Spotsylvania, 7100 Confederate Cemetery Drive, Spotsylvania.
Our lives will be forever changed and lonely without her presence, leaving a big empty space in our hearts. Frances was loved and will be deeply missed.
