Florence Malcolm's Obituary
Florence Grandma Malcolm Margaret Malcolm, 89, of Spotsylvania died on December 15, 2006 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born on Dec. 5, 1917 in Washington D.C. to the late Nellie and George Brown.
Mrs. Malcolm worked for 8 years in Washington for G.C. Murphy. She spent the rest of her life dedicated selflessly to raising her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and any neighborhood children who affectionately knew her as Grandma Malcolm. Her door was always open and she often welcomed friends of her grandchildren who visited or to spend time with grandma malcolmile they were not home. Mrs. Malcolm loved her collection of Angels, Kewpie dolls, and Elephants.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Tinsley and her husband, William of Stafford and Marion K. Howes of Shadyside, MD; Sixteen grandchildren, Tammy T. Slay of Key West, FL, Jerry W. Stearlings and his wife Carolyn of Spotsylvania, Dawn D. Robertson and her husband, David also of Spotsylvania, Rodney Bales of Florida, Terry , Vicki DiSilvio, James Bales: Robert Howes and his wife Darla, Tina Howes, Dennis Howes and his wife Dawn all of Shadyside, Maryland; Kenneth Malcolm and his wife Diana of Dale City, Martin Malcolm, Barbara Schreib and her husband Gary, Scott Malcolm, and Brenda Olson all of Washington State: Robin Malcolm of Reno, Nevada.
Additional survivors include nine great grandchildren, Candice D. Doyle, Brandy M. Smith, Amanda D. Robertson, and Dustin T. Robertson, Jackie, Jonathan, Matthew, Timothy, and Daniel Stearlings; and one great great granddaughter, Marina Dawn Doyle. She is also survived by numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Malcolm was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin S. Malcolm, Sr. and a son, Edwin S. Malcolm, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17 2006 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels- Cremation Service, at the corner of Southpoint Parkway and Courthouse Rd from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at the funeral chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
