Flora Seman's Obituary
Flora May (Black) Seman, 68, resident of Manassas, Virginia, member of Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Annandale, Virginia, died June, 23, 2008 at Woodbine Rehabilitation & Health Center, Alexandria, Virginia. Viewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia.
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Duane Ney and Helen Leona (Ulmer) Black. A descendant of lawyers, doctors and politicians dating back to the founding of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she brought a love of history and knowledge to all she touched.
As an individual, she was multi-talented, from cooking, woodworking, camping, landscaping, and sewing to home crafts. Her work as a Red Cross volunteer, her achievements as a volunteer at a child care center, and as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, helped many people and enriched her life as well.
As a mother and wife, she was the perfect homemaker. Married for over 47 years, she morally supported her husband in his Marine Corps career, maintained a meticulous home, engaged her sons in activities and education, made the holidays and Holy Days a special time, and opened her home to friends and family.
She will be deeply missed by those that survived her, her husband, Stephen G. Seman, her 2 sons, Stephen G. Seman II and Damon C. Seman, her sister, Jerry A. Regl, her brother, Duane N. Black, her 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Stephen, Michael, Sophia, Anastasia and Matthew, her 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Paul, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, her daughter-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
May our Lord grant to his dearly departed servant Flora May Seman a blessed repose and eternal memory! For Christ is risen from the dead and has conquered death by His own death and granted life to all those in the graves!
