Felix Maddox, IV's Obituary
Felix Maddox IV , 68, of Culpeper passed away March 12,2016 at UVA Hospital after a brief illness.
Felix was born in Culpeper County to the late Felix Maddox III and the late Anna Maddox. He graduated from Culpeper County High School and earned a degree in history at University of Richmond.
He lived in Culpeper his entire life. His work career began at A & P stores, after which he operated a video arcade for six years. For the past 20 years he has served as auditor at Holiday Inn and Best Western in Culpeper.
Felix learned the basic card playing skills of the game of bridge from playing with his father. He became an expert bridge player and achieved the rank of Sapphire Life Master. He played several times per week and helped many players achieve Life Master status.
He won many bridge awards including several Ace of Clubs Award wins for District 6 (Richmond). During his student days at University of Richmond he was first place in the University competition.
A graveside service will be held at. 2:00 PM on Tuesday March 15,2016 at Fairview cemetery .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Culpeper Food Closet.
