Felix Gillison, Jr.'s Obituary
Felix Gillison, Jr., 58, also known as Junie by family and friends departed this life suddenly on Friday, June 15, 2018. Felix Jr. was born on March 26, 1960 to the late Felix Sr. and Mae Gillison.
Junie lived in Reva, VA until the age of 12 and the remainder of his life in Richmond, VA. As a child, Junie accepted Christ as his savior and was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church in Reva, VA. He later joined and was an active member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, VA where he served as a member of the security and grill master ministries until God called him home.
Junie had his own catering business, Silver Star Catering.
Junie will be remembered by his family, friends and coworkers for his caring heart and hardworking spirit. Junie worked more than 25 years as a dedicated tractor trailer driver for the US Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife, Velina Gillison; three children, Markeisha Shelton, Earl Wilkerson, Jr. and his wife, Tara, and Travis Wilkerson and his wife, Farren; and six siblings, Ruben Gillison Sr., and his wife, Marcia, Lucinda Miller and her husband, Charles, Frances Bromell and her husband, Lester, Larry Gillison and his wife, Barbara, Felicia Baltimore, and Michael Robinson.
Additional survivors include sister-in-law, Marcella P. Singh; three brothers-in-law, Alphonso “Mickey” Price, Sr., Robert Price, Jr., and Sylvester Price; seven grandchildren; and special friend, Terry “TJ” Miller.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sylvester Brown officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hopkins, Conway Humphrey, James Lewis, Charles Miller, Kevin Miller, Marcus Miller and Cornell Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Junius “Big Joe” Brooks, Terry “TJ” Miller, William Lewis and Tyrone Heard.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
