Everette B. Swain's Obituary
Everette B. Swain, 90, of Suffolk, VA formerly of Murrells Inlet, SC and Woodbridge, VA passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center.
He was born on May 17, 1924 in Virginia to the late William and Elsie Swain.
Everette is survived by his three daughters, Brenda Belew, Patricia Swain, and Sandra (Larry) Singleton; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Sylvia Byrne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hilda; a daughter, Linda (Linwood) Dodd; and his only son, Mickey. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clark, Elwood, and Noland; and one sister, Pearl.
Everette served in WWII and received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon with Bronze Arrowhead, and the WWII Victory Ribbon. Following the Army he was a prison guard for the DC Department of Corrections at Lorton, VA until his retirement.
Everette’s family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park, Stafford, VA.
