Everett Carroll Heflin's Obituary
Everett Carroll Heflin, 88 of Culpeper died Friday, June 01, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1918 in Culpeper to the late Harvey L. Heflin and Pearl Soutter Heflin.
Mr. Heflin worked for E. Russell Smoot & Sons for over twenty six years. He was a hard working man and was proud of the jobs he had accomplished throughout his life such as the steeple he built at St. Stephens Church and the one he remodeled at the courthouse in Warrenton, VA. He enjoyed working in his shop, gardening, and taking care of his kids.
He is survived by his four children, Janet Dodson, Doug Heflin and his wife, Barbara, Linda Jenkins and her husband, Billy, and Michael Heflin and his wife, Delsie, all of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include his brother, Stuart Heflin of Fredericksburg, five grandchildren, Debra and Douglas Dodson, Kim Fewell, Kelly and Kris Heflin, and two step grandchildren, Delisa and James Holt, five great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Curtis Heflin, and his siblings, Carlton Heflin, Genevieve Mobray, Elsie Jenkins, Robert Heflin, and his son-in-law, M.R. “Shine” Dodson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 4, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
