Eva Joan Leverone's Obituary
Eva “Joan” Leverone, of Nellysford, Virginia, formerly of Alexandria, Virginia died April 29, 2015 at the age of 87. She was the daughter of the late Charles Lester and Edna Theresa (Morrison) Frazier. Joan was born in Great Neck Long Island, New York and raised in Washington, D.C. where she attended Western High School.
Joan enjoyed entertaining, beach vacations, and spending time with her very dear friends. She loved her family more than anything and was proud to be one of the last traditional housewives during the 50s and 60s. Hand-in-hand with her husband Harry of nearly 65 years, she raised five wonderful children who became her pride and joy. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild have all been caressed by her loving hand. At the time of her death, she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of 2 new great-grandbabies.
Endearing herself to others with her pleasant outgoing nature, Joan made quick friends with just about everyone she met. Her positive attitude and encouraging words served as an inspiration to those who knew her. She was a classic “lady” in every sense of the word and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, Harry W. Leverone, Jr., Joan is survived by four children: Thomas William and wife, Tammy of Richmond, KY; Kathleen Ann and husband, Thomas Schmaltz of Watkinsville, GA; Robert James and wife, Barbara of Charlotte, NC; and Paul Neal and wife, Beth of Nellysford, VA; eight grandchildren, Jason, Gretchen, and Benjamin Schmaltz; Nicholas, Alex, Olivia, Abby, and Harry Leverone; two great-grandchildren, John and Naomi Schmaltz; and her siblings, Thomas, Elizabeth, and John Frazier. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Elizabeth.
A memorial service will be held at Found & Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 at 11am on Friday, May 22, 2015.
Internment at Culpeper National Cemetery on 305 U.S. Avenue in Culpeper will immediately follow.
