Eva Johnston Karnes' Obituary
Eva Johnston Karnes, 84, of Culpeper went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. She was born July 7, 1932 in Boston, VA to the late George and Lucille Smith Johnston.
Mrs. Karnes was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church for 50 years. She was also a member of the Culpeper VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Christians Woman’s Club, and was a Culpeper Regional Hospital Pink Lady.
Eva was a selfless wife and mother, who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her life personified the Godly woman of Proverbs 31.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Edward Karnes; three children, Jeffrey Karnes of Culpeper, Billy Karnes and his wife, Susan of Newport News, VA, and Stephen Karnes of Culpeper; one sister, Edna Payne; eleven grandchildren, Anna Peckman, Andy Karnes, Paul Karnes, Ross Karnes, Aidan Karnes, Hunter Karnes, Ryan Karnes, Stephanie Lucas, Ashlie Frazier, Lindsay Butler and Ryan Butler; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Thornhill; and her step mother, Lottie Carter Johnston.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Carlton officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Karnes, Hunter Karnes, Andy Karnes, Paul Karnes, Aidan Karnes and Ross Karnes.
