Eunice Mary Stapleton's Obituary
Eunice Mary Stapleton, 81, of Culpeper died on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on December 12, 1926 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Burton and Frieda Langille.
Mrs. Stapleton is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward Emanuel Stapleton, Sr. She is the beloved mother to Edward Stapleton, Jr. and his wife Kim of Leesburg, VA; James Stapleton and his wife Liz of Cupertino, CA; Kathleen Stapleton of Durham, NC; Richard Stapleton and his wife Jill of Culpeper, VA; and Sue Stapleton of Boulder, CO. She was the beloved grandmother to Edward IV and Melissa Stapleton; Kyle Heath; and Jenni, James Jr. and Kristy Stapleton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Alexa, Emilia and DeShawn.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sister Maria F. Stapleton, Mary Langille and her children as well as her longtime special friend, Jeanne Burns.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Langille and his daughter Elizabeth.
Eunice had a love for gardening, needlepoint and refinishing furniture. But most of all she loved being surrounded by her family and her roses. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and the Auxiliary of Culpeper Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Leo Zonneveld officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Stapleton’s name to Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 19 Brandy Station, VA 22714 and/or Culpeper Rescue Squad, PO Box 731 Culpeper, VA 22701.
