Eunice "Evelyn" Raines' Obituary
We lost our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt, Eunice “Evelyn” Raines, 99, on 2 December 2022 at Greenfield Senior Living in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
Survivors include her sister, Rose Cash; daughter, Lois Mauck; daughter-in-law, Nancy Raines; grandchildren, Jeff Raines, April and Greg Mauck, Willard Raines, and Alison Harper (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Summer Wilson, Brittany Raines, and Madison Harper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raines; sons, Jimmy, Charlie, and Bill Raines; grandson, Chris Raines, and eight of her siblings.
Evelyn loved her family and friends. Evelyn was a great cook and worked in the James Monroe cafeteria for many years. She was also the beloved caregiver for her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, 12 December at the Eastland United Methodist Church (10718 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408), with a reception immediately following. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastland United Methodist Church, where she was the last surviving charter member. Please note on the check “In memory of Evelyn Raines.”
