Eugene R. Tibbs' Obituary
Eugene R. Tibbs, 76, of Culpeper, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Culpeper Hospital. He was born in Culpeper to the late Charles and Fannie Wormley Tibbs on May 15, 1949.
Eugene was a strong willed minded individual, he never gave up the fight of wanting to walk again and get out of his wheelchair. He did not let that stop him from continuing to do the things that he liked.
(2 Corinthians 4:16-18) Encourage believers not to lose heart, as inner spiritual renewal happens daily even when the physical body weakens.
Eugene is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal great grandparents, Rev. Wanzer and Margaret Wilson Tibbs, Robert Dinkins Wormley (Emma); grandparents, Charlie Tibbs (Mary); his wife, Jacqueline Menefee Tibbs; six brothers, Daniel, Fred, Henry, Haywood, Clifford, Frank, and Charlie Tibbs; four sisters, Mildred Minor, Jean Easter, Elizabeth Smith and Clara Thompson.
Eugene leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Eugene, Jr., Douglas and Dermont; four stepchildren, Shawn, Pam, Sterling, and Shelly; three sisters, Margaret, Mary, and Christine; two brothers, Lawrence and Andrew; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with the Rev. James Mack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
