Eugene N. Surrett's Obituary
Eugene N. Surrett, 85, of Stevensburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 16, 1928 in Springfield Gardens, NY to the late Edward and Florence Evans Surrett.
Eugene will be best remembered by boarders and students of Majestic Meadows Stables as a true, natural horseman. His family came first in his life and was a true family man, excellent father, grandfather, husband and friend. He was known at the barn as Grandpa. Above all his lifelong accomplishments, he was most proud of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baldringer Surrett; two children, Eugene Surrett, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Enfield, CT and Bonnie Williams and her husband, Kevin of Stevensburg; four grandchildren, Samantha Martynowski and her husband, Daniel, Kristin Erlitz, Michael Surrett and James Surrett and one great grandchild, Mason Brunner.
The family will hold a private inurnment in which his ashes will be scattered on the farm he loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Rapidan, PO Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
