Eugene Hezekiah Soutter's Obituary
Eugene Hezekiah Soutter, 82, of Culpeper passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born April 26, 1931 in Stevensburg to the late Floyd Mason Soutter and Rosie Fincham Soutter.
Mr. Soutter was proud to have served his country for two years as a member of the Corps of Engineers with the United States Army. He worked many years for Rental Uniform Service (RUS) and retired there as the fleet mechanic. He was also employed as a bus mechanic with the Culpeper County school system. Mr. Soutter was a skilled mechanic. He could fix anything that was broken and remake the faulty part.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Isabelle H. Soutter, and his children, Gloria S. Harper and her husband, Rex, of Culpeper; Bernard H. Soutter, also of Culpeper, and Teresa Seeber and her husband, Matthew, of Madison. Additional survivors include his grandson, Christopher Harper and his wife, Jessica, of Brightwood, and two great-granddaughters, Teaghan and Hannah. He is also survived by two sisters, Katherine M. Soutter of Culpeper and Violet Rowland of Sumter, South Carolina. Other survivors include his Aunt, Gladys Bowen and her husband, Walker, of Falls Church, and special in-laws Billy and Ollie Fincham and their children, Faye Shaw, Jacque Campbell and Tim Fincham.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery.
