Etta Jane Smoot's Obituary
Etta Jane Smoot, 70, of Culpeper, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her family’s home here in Culpeper.
Jane was a simple woman of simple enjoyments, spending time with her family and friends while being involved with their activities or just to be sitting on the front porch of the homestead playing with the animals that would take the time to come and visit with her. Jane truly was a gift to us all and a privilege to be a friend with.
Jane was born in Rappahannock County on August 29, 1940 to the late Reubin W. Smoot and Rosie Lee Smoot.
Jane is survived by her two sisters, Carrie Harris, her husband Buck, and Mary Lee Estes all of Culpeper, her two brothers, Thomas Smoot Sr., his wife Elizabeth of Reva and Reubin W. Smoot Jr. of Amissville her two nephews, Fred Jenkins Jr. and Thomas Smoot Jr.
In addition to her parents Jane is also preceded in death by her brother in law Harold B. Estes Sr. and her nephew Harold B. Estes Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with the Pastor Sandy Martin officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers named are; Thomas Smoot Jr., James Hurlock, Jim Branch, Rickie J. Rutherford Jr., Bob Cooke and Danny Goolsby. Honorary pallbearer named, Fred Jenkins Jr..
