Ethel M. Guiffre's Obituary
Ethel Mae Guiffre 88 was taken by God from this world on July 15, 2014. Her journey started on August 23, 1925 when she was born in Tupper Lake NY daughter of Joseph and Priscella Clement. She attended the local schools in Tupper Lake. She had several siblings : Thelma Manning, Gerald Clement, Robert ‘’Lefty’’ Clement, Leon Clement, Wallace Clement and Joseph Clement.
She married Charles J. Guiffre on August 31, 1945. They were married for 67 years prior to his passing in June of 2012. They raised 12 children:
Starr Guiffre-Gray, (predeceased her in 1993) Gary Guiffre ( last known in Korea) , Donna Guiffre- Nelson and spouse Richard, Gregg Joseph Guiffre (predeceased her in 1962) Priscella Guiffre-Larabie and spouse Stephen , Marc Guiffre (predeceased her in 2002) , Paula Guiffre-Clark, Toni Guiffre, Laura Guiffre- Stanley and spouse William , Paul Guiffre and spouse Bonnie, Carla Sue Guiffre Gregoire and spouse Doug. They had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
They resided in Tupper Lake NY for over 40 years prior to moving to Manassas , VA in 1986. Since 2007 they resided at the home of Laura Guiffre-Stanley in Culpeper , VA.
Viewing will be held at Found and Sons Funeral Home 850 Sperryville Pike in Culpeper VA on Friday July 18 from 4-5pm (family only) and 5-7 pm (public viewing) and in Tupper Lake at Stuart –Fortune-Keogh Funeral Home 24 Cliff Avenue Tupper Lake , NY 12986 at 9 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. After the viewing a service will be held with James Ellis presiding and interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery immediately thereafter.
