Ernest Leroy Hicks' Obituary
E. Leroy Hicks, 87, a lifelong resident of Spotsylvania County went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Leroy graduated from the old Spotsylvania High School and was # 50 on the football team. A great gift of his was having “Spotsylvania ingenuity” for solving issues. He was a lifelong member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, where he was involved in the church choir, men’s club, Sunday school, and was always there to help when it was needed.
Leroy loved to fish and bowl. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and gospel music.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Catherine and Fred T. Hicks; and his sisters and brothers, he was the last sibling. A glorious reunion for all.
Gospel sing - memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 11007 W. Catharpin Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
