Emma Jane Golightly's Obituary
Emma Jane Golightly, 90, of Richmond, died on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Masonic Home of Virginia in Richmond where she has resided for the past five years. She was born on June 28, 1918 in Johnstown, PA to the late Arden and Alice Aker Fry.
Mrs. Golightly was a member and past Matron of the Eastern Star in Culpeper. She enjoyed spending her time painting and running Golightly’s Rock and Gem Shop that was located on Rt 29 between Culpeper and Madison.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Golightly, Sr., of Richmond, his daughter, Charlotte Funkhouser of Brick, NJ, and two step-children Jack Golightly, Jr. of Madison, and Gayla Jenkins of Fredericksburg.
Additional survivors include her sister, Laverne Fornick of Patchenville, PA, five grandchildren, John Underwood III of Brick, NJ, Joseph Underwood of Neptune, NJ, Robert Golightly of Richmond, Brian Batchelor of Orange and Tim Batchelor of Culpeper, and five great grandchildren, John V, Brielle, Riley Ann, Arden, and Mallory Underwood.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
An Eastern Star service will be held at the graveside on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Underwood IV, Joseph Underwood, John Underwood V, Brian Batchelor, Tim Batchelor, and Robert Golightly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Masonic Home of Virginia 4101 Nine Mile Road Richmond, VA 23223-4999.
