Emma Campbell Gaines' Obituary
Emma Campbell Gaines, 85, of Madison, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at her residence. She was born October 9, 1927 in Rappahannock to the late James Campbell, Sr. and Cora McFarland Campbell.
Mrs. Gaines had been a resident of this area all her life. She was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, canning and reading her bible. She loved to cook and was best known for her gravy.
She is survived by her children; Linda Haynes and her husband, James of Banco, Claude Gaines, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Madison, and Tammy Mallory and her husband, Buck of Madison, Joseph Edward Campbell and his wife, Rosie of Haywood and John Robert Campbell and his wife, Joanne of Banco; one brother, James Campbell, Jr. of Culpeper; seven grandchildren, Susan, Jessica, Chrissy, Amanda, Kaitlyn, William “Scooter” and Nicholas; and three great grandchildren, Garrett, Nataleigh and Lillie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Marion Gaines, Sr.; and five sisters, Frances Jenkins, Carrie Settle, Mollie Weakley, Lillie Grigsby and Mary Weaver.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2 pm at Novum Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Light officiating.
