Emma Virginia Compton
Emma Virginia Compton, 85 of Rixeyville went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. Virginia as everyone knew her was born March 5, 1927, in Culpeper County to the late Will Utz and Lucy Ann Shaffer.
Virginia was a member of the First Baptist church of Culpeper and she was a very patient woman that would never complain. She was known to be the peacemaker of the family, never being selfish and always ready to add a dinner place to her table for unexpected guests.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of the last 67 years Lewis Compton, Sr. and their children. Four daughters; Virginia Woodward and her husband David of Culpeper, Josie Woodward and her husband Jimmy of Rixeyville, Ada Dennis and her husband Ronnie of Leon and Joan Hayes and her husband Keith of Rixeyville, two sons; Lewis Compton, Jr. and his wife Donna of Rixeyville and Ben Compton and his wife Jennifer also or Rixeyville. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her five sisters, one daughter, Georgie Bazagani and one grandson, Jacob Thomas Compton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper with the Preacher Charles Shifflett officiating.
Interment will follow at the New Life Baptist Church Cemetery. The grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
A special thank you to her daughter Joan and her family for devoting the last seventeen years of their lives to her care, also a special thank you to her son Ben and his family for all their loving care to her.
