Elsie Mae Childress Myers' Obituary
Elsie Mae Childress Myers, 91, of Elkwood, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born September 29, 1915 in Culpeper County to the late Drury Sanford and Sallie Groves Childress.
Elsie was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Elsie is survived by her eight children; Marion W. Myers Jr. and his wife Fran of Fredericksburg, Virginia M. Williams of Elkwood, Shelby M. Hicks and her husband Jim, of Culpeper, Robert L. Myers of Elkwood, Nancy M. Weaver and her husband Jim of Elkwood, Dianne M. Smith and her husband Bob of Gambrills, Maryland, Larry W. Myers and his wife Betty of Elkwood, and Deborah M. Martin and her husband Bob of Richardsville, twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, also one sister Bertha Gibbs of Fresno, California.
In addition to her parents Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Marion Myers Sr., one granddaughter Selena Myers and four siblings Horace Childress, HerEward Childress, Beatrice Lewis and Willie Childress.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A Funeral service will be held 2p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lignum with the Rev. Suzanne Shrader and Rev. Robert Regan officiating.
Interment to follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers named are Darryl Myers, Lenny Williams, Steve Williams, Rick Hicks, Jay Weaver, Blair Thomas, L.W. Myers and Robert Thomas.
