Ellen Elizabeth McCarty Rose's Obituary
Ellen Elizabeth McCarty Rose, 97 of King George County, passed away Sunday November 18, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Elizabeth was a member of Zoan Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, crosswords, watching Wheel of Fortune and reading her bible daily.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Gray and Beverley Newton, both of King George; a son, James W. Rose, Jr. and his companion, Carolyn Thomas of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Stephen (Betty), Susan (Duke), Justin (Chelle), Monte (Tracy) and Lori; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her special niece, Barbara Smith; special friends of the family, Jacquelyn Hart and Orazio Muzzolini and her honorary grandson, Steve Marion.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James W. Rose, Sr.
Elizabeth’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels – Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Zoan Baptist Church, 5888 Plank Road, Fredericksburg with the Rev. Jason Booth officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Elizabeth’s family requests that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the King George Fire and Rescue Department, 8122 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485.
