Ella Marine Gore, 92, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away peacefully in June 2024. Born in 1931 to the late Esther Lee Dodson Jenkins and McKinley Jenkins Sr., Ella lived a life marked by dedication to her family, faith, and community.
Ella is survived by her children, Barbara Gore Belcher (Tony) and Otis Gore Jr. (Mike); her sister, Shirley Dodson; her brother, Sam Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Gore Sr.; her sisters, Lucy Johnson, Frances Ryan, Gladys Compton, Katherine Estes, and Betty Gore; and her brothers, Hugh Vern Jenkins, Roy Jenkins Sr., and McKinley Jenkins.
A devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, Ella’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She worked diligently as a supervisor at Aileen Knitwear for many years, earning respect and admiration from her colleagues. Ella’s commitment to her community was evident through her role as a founding member and volunteer of Reva Fire and Rescue, where she contributed countless hours to helping others.
Ella found great joy in quilting and gardening, activities that showcased her creativity and nurturing spirit. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), reflecting her pride in her heritage and dedication to preserving history.
A funeral service will be held on June 11, 2024 at 12pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue, organizations that were close to Ella’s heart.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of The Culpeper for their compassionate care and loving friendship. Ella Marine Gore’s legacy of love, faith, and service will be cherished by her family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
