Elizabeth L. West's Obituary
Elizabeth L. West, 84, of Richmond, formerly of Culpeper, VA, left her earthly home, family, and friends to join her husband of 43 years, Paul, in their eternal home with the Lord on November 12, 2008. She was the beloved mother of two sons, William J. West and James L. West and his wife, Veronica; grandmother of Todd West and his wife, Jackie, Terri Retzke and her husband, Dave, Stacie Doyle and her husband, Buddy, Cherith West and Jordan Bach and her husband, Matt. She was the great grandmother of Austin West, Marleigh West, Cameron Leonard and Matthew Bach, II. She was the sister of Frances Davis and her husband, Chester, and also is survived by a beloved friend, Joan Groome, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandson, Jacob Leonard.
“Sister” was born in Mitchells, VA on January 1, 1924. In high school she played on the girl’s softball team and fell in love with a “scrappy” Golden Gloves boxer, Paul, whom she married in 1942. Whether she was known as Sister, Elizabeth, Mom, Grandma, Aunt Liz, or Mrs. West, she was loved by all and her caring love of all will be missed.
