Beth Leizear
September 30 2008 Elizabeth Diana Beth Leizear departed this life to go be with the other Angels. Beth Leizear was gravely injured on September 28 in an automobile accident while responding to a call for her community while at work for Dodson Security Agency. Beth took absolute pride in wearing her uniform, and answering her community’s calls for help.
Born in Burbank CA on March 10, 1971, Beth moved to VA with her Husband in 1994, after his enlistment in the Air Force was up, she quickly adapted to the VA way of life, she embraced it and in no time you couldn’t have guessed that she was CA born and raised. Beth was an outstanding and devoted mother, wife, employee and friend to many.
She leaves behind a husband, John, of 14 years who is a member at Lake of the Woods Fire Company 29, and two precious daughters, Brooke and Kaitlyn that were her life.
Her presence will forever be felt by all those she has known and touched through her years as a resident of Lake of the Woods, and Orange County.
Beth was an avid Redskins fan, as well as a racing fan, whether it be NASCAR, NHRA, or the local dirt tracks.
Beth thought of others before she ever thought of herself, and she proved this again as she had one more selfless act she performed before she left our earthly world, Beth held on long enough to donate her heart to a young girl in need of a transplant.
She will forever be remembered by her family, peers, and her husband’s fire company that responded to her call for help on Sunday, September 28th. Beth has answered her final call, and can now rest peacefully knowing she did a fine job protecting and serving her family, friends, and community. We will always love and miss you sweetheart.
The family wishes to thank L.O.W Fire Station members for their unwavering support and kindness in helping John and the girls through this tragic time in their life. Not once did they leave the families side at the accident scene or at the hospital providing 24 hour a day coverage until Beth’s passing. They want to also thank the Virginia State Firefighters Association, Engine Co. 23, Engine Co 21, and all the other Fire Co’s. that have rallied around them to wrap them in love and support.

A memorial service celebrating Beth’s life will held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Lake of the Woods Church with the Rev. Tom Schafer officiating.
