Elizabeth Ann Jenkins' Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Jenkins, 60, of Luray, died on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on January 23, 1949 in Rappahannock County to Ethel S. Stringfellow and the late Roy Lewis Stringfellow.
Elizabeth loved music, especially Elvis Presley, her cat, Lilu, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Harry enjoyed the Town of Culpeper and had plans to move back and watch it grow. She cherished her time spent outdoors which was limited because of her asthma. Now Elizabeth is able to breathe freely.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Harry T. Jenkins, Sr., three children, Wanda Kay Singleton and her husband, William of Luray, Harry Thomas Jenkins, Jr. “J.T.” of Fredericksburg, and Paul Anthony Jenkins of Fredericksburg.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Ashley Singleton, Brandon Singleton and Lacy Singleton, and three sisters, Linda Glascock and her husband, Larry of Bealeton, Shirley Glascock of Culpeper, Bridget Crane and her husband, James “Rusty” of Culpeper, five nephews, six nieces, and close family friends, Frank Hoffman of Midland and Wayne Richards of Madison.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Catherine Edwards Creel, maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Earl H. Tharp, and paternal grandparents, Oscar and Pearl Stringfellow.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oaklawn Drive, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Randy Orndorff officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James “Rusty” Crane, Justin Maymi, Kelly Glascock, Frank Hoffman, James Stringfellow and Denny McMullen. Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Stringfellow.
