Elizabeth "Liz" Rider's Obituary
Elizabeth “Liz” Miller Rider, 74, of Culpeper died Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 15, 1937 in Rappahannock to the late Rufus Daniel Leake Sr. and Elizabeth Fincham Leake.
Liz was an avid Bingo player and was a member of the Ladies Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and cherished the time spent with her family. She was a people person and rarely met a stranger. She will be missed greatly by many throughout the community.
She is survived by her two children, Janet Bennett and her husband, Art of Culpeper, and Charles W. Rider, Jr. and his fiancé, Jacenta Jenkins of Culpeper, four grandchildren, A.J. Bennett of Culpeper, Megan Rivera and her husband, Steven of Bedford, VA, Austin Bennett of Culpeper, and Shyra Jade Rider of Culpeper, one step granddaughter, Jaesha Stream Cook of Culpeper, one stepson, Johnny Rider and his wife, Kathy of Etlan, and one sister-in-law, Erma Leake of Luray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Weldon Rider, Sr. and one brother, Rufus Daniel Leake, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Roger Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Etlan Cemetery.
