Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Paape's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Paape was born August 26, 1929 in Mounds, Illinois. She grew up in Highland Falls, New York where her father worked at West Point Military Academy. Libby graduated from Highlands Falls High School in 1948. She relocated to Washington, DC where she worked for an International Labor Union. Libby married Richard Paape in January of 1959 and to that union was born a daughter, Lisa Ann. Libby is survived by her husband (Richard) along with her daughter, Lisa Saunders (James) and grandchildren, Alexandra, Ashley and Jacob Saunders and brother Everett Taylor Jr. (Karen) and her brother-in-law, Ted White. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Everett and Pauline Taylor and her sisters Marilyn Rose Lipani and Loretta “Toodie” White.
Libby and her family resided in the Washington area where she raised her daughter and then retired to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina prior to their move to Culpeper. She enjoyed a variety of volunteering in the communities where she lived, especially at the Theatre by her home in Myrtle Beach. She was considered a professional antique shopper and enjoyed collecting jewelry along with her sisters; they were very close and always lived with their families together in different states throughout their life.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Father Mark Moretti officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or a charity of your choice.
