Elizabeth "Red" Mae McPeak's Obituary
Elizabeth “Red” Mae McPeak, of Culpeper, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the Hospice of the Piedmont House in Charlottesville.
Red truly loved life and cherished time with her family. She was a dedicated employee of Culpeper County Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria, and also worked the night shift at the Culpeper Star-Exponent. Her strong work ethic and caring nature were evident in everything she did.
Red is survived by her daughter, Brenda Brumfield (Vincent “Scott” Brumfield); granddaughter, Lacee Michelle Martin (Kevin); siblings, Mary Rakes (Sydney), Sonny Brown, Ricky Brown, and Patricia Bache; father of her daughters, Haven McPeak (Barbara); god daughter, Amy Glascoe; and a host of additional family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Brown and Peggy Brown Smith; her daughter, Pamela McPeak; sisters, Margie Jenkins and Ellen Tyler; and brother, Kenneth “PeeWee” Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, VA.
