Elizabeth Ellen Carter's Obituary
Elizabeth Ellen Carter, 77, of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She retired from A & P Grocery Store after 30 years of service. Elizabeth loved photography and genealogy. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Darlene Elizabeth Carter-Shumate of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren, Stacey A., John D. and Cheri E. Shumate, all of Texas and Heather Hefner, Rachael Carter-Gathof and Sarah Cook, all of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Virginia Beach and Charlotte Weakley; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Virginia C. Bohannon; her husband of 26 years, Raymond D. Carter, Jr.; and her son, Raymond Charles Carter.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
