Eleanor Morrow Cordle's Obituary
Eleanor Morrow Cordle, 88, formerly of Sperryville died Friday, October 26, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born August 27, 1919 in Norfolk, VA to the late Thomas Peregrin Wroth Morrow and Frances King Morrow.
Mrs. Cordle was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Culpeper and Epiphany Episcopal Church in Norfolk, VA. Her hobbies included attending bridge club, serving on the altar guild, dried flower arranging, and playing solitaire daily. She was a very caring woman and in her younger years took care of parishioners and got others involved in the church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was the last of her family generation.
She is survived by her children, David Morrow Cordle, and his wife Charla, of Charles City; Louis Harron Cordle, and his wife Ann, of Sperryville; and stepdaughter Faye Keenan of Yorktown, four grandchildren, Devon Hahn, Will Cordle, Amy Colley, and Alan Jenkins, and a number of great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Cordle; son, Thomas Cordle and stepson, William H. Cordle, Jr.; and her siblings, Gornall Morrow, Ruth Pillar, Henry Morrow, Edwin Morrow, Frances Morrow Love, and Thomas Morrow.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Jennings Hobson officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA at 3:30 p.m.
