My prayers go out to her family for their loss. Mitzi was my neighbor for 17 years. She loved her yard and flowers. Her knowledge of the outside was tremendous. She always had a kind smile. I can honestly say she was always supportive of me when I reached out. The day I moved both of us cried that we would not see each other as often. Rest in peace Mitzi.

My mom was a waitress at Valles Steakhouse in Springfield. She had the good fortune to wait on Alan Keys who realized her potential and brought her to the State Department as his Executive Administrative Assistant. There she cultivated her love of politics, foreign affairs and Bill Reilly. Her 20+ years at the State Department made her so happy and allowed her an early retirement when my father became ill. She returned to her small town girl roots and moved to Culpeper where she kept busy making friends and doing yard work and gardening. Mom was a trooper and will be greatly missed.
