Edwin Granville White's Obituary
Edwin Granville White, 96, of Culpeper died on Friday, April 24, 2009 at his son’s residence. He was born on April 2, 1913 in Petersburg, VA to the late John and Georgetta White.
Mr. White was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during WWII as a Motor Machinist’s Mate Third Class. In 1976 after marrying his late wife, Hilma, he moved to Hobe Sound, FL for 29 years, later moving back to be with his family. He was the past Superintendent of Culpeper Stone for over 15 years and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Stevens White and his wife, Jojuan of Culpeper, his daughter, Joy Cooke Wright and her husband, Russell “Butch” of Goodview, and his sister, Nell Carter of Manassas.
Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Stephanie White and her wife, Cheryl, Patrick White and his wife, Kathy and Sheri Weeks and her husband, Brian, great grandchildren, Shaun Leonard, Carrington Leonard, Jordan Weeks, Kendra White, Meaghan White, Heather Green, Andrew Harlow and Brandi Jo Harlow, great-great grandchildren, Carleigh McFarland, Breanna, Sage and Lyric Green, and Alexis and Blake Harlow, and his step grandchildren, Justin, Jessica and Janel Barton.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lottie Elizabeth White, his second wife, Hilma A. White, and a host of siblings.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
