Edwin Francis Gentry, Jr.'s Obituary
Edwin Francis Gentry, Jr., 47, of Roanoke died Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 9, 1969 in Culpeper to Edwin and Faye Carroll Gentry.
Eddie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and would annually join his father and the “crew” to go on hunting and fishing trips. He thoroughly enjoyed the company and their friendships.
After graduation from Culpeper County High School, he attended East Carolina University for 4 years. He later served in the US Navy aboard the USS Eisenhower and was honorably discharged and served further in the inactive reserves. Eddie managed various restaurants in NC and provided many years in food service.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Garland C. Gentry, Jr. of Culpeper, Cathy C. Langdon and her husband, Phil of Benson, NC, Anita C. Stephenson and her husband, Michael of Four Oaks, NC, and S. Scott Carroll and his wife, Kim of Garner, NC; as well as numerous cousins, and other extended family, friends and loved ones.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Culpeper County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association, 1121 N. Main St., Culpeper, VA 22701 &/or Salem Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, PO Box 1254, Culpeper, VA 22701.
