Edward Brown Compton's Obituary
Edward Brown Compton, 84, of Castleton died Friday, September 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1924 in Rappahannock County to the late Manie Marian and Polly Jane Cloud Compton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Margaret Compton.
Mr. Compton was a lifetime member of Massanova Pentecostal Church. He was known for his hard work, his love of farming and music.
E. B. is survived by three sons, Edward Compton and his wife, Faye, Sam Compton, and Wayne Compton and his wife, Pat, two daughters, Ellen Clatterbuck and Bonnie Beaucham and her husband, Terry, and his brother, David Compton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Sharon Cave, Chris Clatterbuck, Vicky Shifflett, William, Andrew, Wanda Compton and Melissa Tapp, and two step-grandchildren, Beth Graves and Shannon Jolliffe, 10 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 7 - 9 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 28, 2009 at Found and Sons Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. L. D. Savage officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
