Edward Wayne Yowell's Obituary
Pastor Edward “Wayne” Yowell, 75, of Culpeper died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his home. He was born June 9, 1948 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Wayne was a veteran of the US Army and worked for the town of Culpeper for 34 years before retirement. He loved preaching and sharing the gospel. He was always witnessing about the Jesus he served. Anyone who knew Wayne loved him.
He was the pastor at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. He conducted Sunday services there for 43 years. The residents there were like family to him. They all loved him and looked forward to him coming each week. Wayne was faithful to the task God called him to do. He had a heart for the elderly.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Yowell; two sons, Justin Yowell (Jenelle) and Gary Yowell (Joia); five grandchildren, Rayna, Grayson, Aubrey, Aden, and Alex; one brother, Roger Yowell; and three sisters, Mary Ann Conyers, Nancy Pullen, and Janet Powers.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Jenkins Cooke, and stepfather, Moffett Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Lee Brown, Pastor David Wallace, and Brother Oliver Bowles officiating. The family will receive friends two hours before the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family will be John Leake, Mike Jenkins, Ron Frazier, Trigg Kincer, Blaine Woodard, and Lowell Lewis.
