Edward Merril Boutchyard's Obituary
Edward Merril Boutchyard, 91, of Fredericksburg, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Edward served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was an ordained minister and was pastor of churches in Bristersburg, Callao and Woodford.
Edward is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emma Sue; two sons, Frank J. Boutchyard, Sr. and his wife, Peggy of Arizona and Robert W. Boutchyard and his wife, Kay of Rhoadesville; four daughters, Frances B. Brooks and her husband, James of Stafford County, Peggy J. Kulynych and her husband, Abraham of Montpelier, Donna V. Timmons and her husband, Vincent of Warsaw and Susan H. Hirsch and her husband, Michael of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Helen Jones and Bernice Jett, both of Stafford; a brother, Harry D. Boutchyard, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Spotsylvania County; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward’s family will receive friends Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Calvary Christian Church, 2222 Jeff Davis Hwy., Fredericksburg, from 10:00-11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Pastor Michael Hirsch and Rev. Abraham Kulynych will be officiating. Burial will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Following the committal service at the cemetery, there will be a celebration of Edward’s life with food at Family Community Church, 120 Chestnut Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701.
His family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Edward’s name to the Calvary Christian Church, 200 McConkey St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
