Edward Arnold Bennett's Obituary
Edward Arnold “Arnie” Bennett, 86, of Rapidan, died Sunday, May 21, 2023 at University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1936 in Rixeyville, VA as the only child of the late Edward Thomas and Ora Dale Brown Bennett.
Edward was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1955 to 1964, deployed oversees for multiple tours. He retired as a supervisor after working for 38 years at the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Edward is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Weaver Bennett; three sons, Jim Bennett (Amanda), David Bennett (Terry), and Robert “Bobby” Bennett (Melanie); eleven grandchildren, Kathy McLin (Greg), Nicole Bennett, J. Robert Bennett (Vickie), Christine Sult (Andrew), April Mathes (Carl), David Bennett (Tiffany), Edward T. Bennett (Carina), Loretha Myers (Craig), Dakota Alder, Austin Berry, and Jay Jansson; 22 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Richard Grendahl officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Bethsaida United Methodist Church, 1014 Ridgeview Road, Brightwood, VA, with military honors. Pallbearers serving the family will be John Stover, Mike Mozingo, David Weaver, Jason Long, Jimmy Long, and Joey Brown.
