Edna Viola Settle's Obituary
Edna Viola Brown Settle, 91, of White Plains, Maryland, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at UM Laurel Regional Hospital. She was born May 6, 1929 in Lignum, Virginia to the late Paul Lee Brown and Grace Truma Brown.
She is survived by her five children, William Gerald Settle (Peggy) of Rixeyville, VA, Stephen Glenn Settle of Lignum, VA, Mark Alan Settle (Teresa) and Joyce Darlene Santora (Joe) all of Nanjemoy, MD, and Diane Frances Janes (Vince) of White Plains, MD; twenty grandchildren, John B. Settle (Lynn), Jackie Settle Bowles, Robert B. Settle (Kim), Jennifer J. Settle, Jesse G. Settle (Beth Ann), Steven Beavers, Mark J. Settle (Amber), William Alan “Billy” Settle (Jessie), Mary Settle, Rebecca D Wathen (Mark), Olivia V. Mitchell (Clive), Natalie J. Santora, Joseph M. Santora, Shannon J. Janes, Vince B. Janes, Teresa M. Janes, Samatha G. Janes, Ricky L. Janes, Wesley A. Janes, Nicholas Janes; nineteen great grandchildren, Beth Apperson, Kimberely Perkins, Chris Settle, Hunter Bowles, Ashley Bowles, Harley Settle, Brodie Settle, Charlie Brown, Mason Settle, Skylar Settle, Harper Settle, Abigail Settle, Lilly, Ivy, Keaton Mitchell, Roland Mitchell, Adelina Compton, Michael Janes and Jackson Janes; six great, great grandchildren, Eliza, John-John, Chloe, Teagan, Logan and Arabella; and one sister June Frazier.
In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Broda Settle; three grandchildren, Stephen “Stevie” William Settle, Sarah Janes and Stephanie Janes; and nine siblings, Gertrude Brown, Alfred Brown, Naomi Lesley, Grace Lesley, Frank Brown, Milton Brown, George “Fid” Brown, Bernie Brown and Paul Brown.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 form 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia. Due to Covid-19 mandates masks are required to enter the building.
Services will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Phillip Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, VA. The family would like to invite those unable to attend in person to join the services via livestream at
