Edna Mae Hurst's Obituary
Edna Mae Hurst, 95, of Culpeper, VA passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Dogwood Village of Orange. She was born May 9, 1930 to the late James W. Fix and Lemma Mae Bowen.
Edna had a true green thumb and found great joy in gardening, especially tending to her irises and watching hummingbirds visit her flowers. A devoted homemaker, she kept a loving and welcoming home and was always busy caring for her family, who were the center of her world. She loved all kinds of music and never missed a chance to dance. Above all, her family was what mattered most to her.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Janet Kilby (Richard), Joan Seested (Bill), and Donna Mae Hurst; grandchildren, Lorraine Kilby, Jason Kilby (Robynn), Matthew Kilby, Lisa Seested (Mike Petry), Christine Seested, Bill Seested (Amanda), Katherine Mae Wight (Josh), and Jacob Frazier; great grandchildren, Georgia Williams, Lorynn Kilby, Devyn Groth (Connor), Nick Butschky, Abigail Seested, Madelyn Seested, and Alivia Wright; step great grandchildren, Austin Petry (Beth), Zachary Petry (MacKenzie) and Levi Wright; step great great-grandson, Weston Petry, and a host of additional family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hurst; and her siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Rt. 522, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Adam Meisburger officiating.
