Edith Shaver "Lucille" Weakley's Obituary
Edith Shaver “Lucille” Weakley, 88, of Charlottesville passed peacefully with her children by her side on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at The Laurels of Charlottesville. She was born July 8, 1930 in Ivy, VA to the late Austin and Lena McCauley Shaver.
Lucille was the owner of Rane’ Hairstylists in Culpeper from 1957 to 2012.
She is survived by two children, Priscilla Weakley Critzer (Larry) of Charlottesville, VA, and Kevin Weakley (Katy) of Forest, VA; one daughter-in-law, Patty Weakley of SC; two siblings, Ashby Shaver of Charlottesville, VA, and Lorraine Mawyer of Manassas, VA; sister-in-law Yvonne Shaver of Charlottesville, VA; seven grandchildren, Dana Quick (Page) of Ruckersville, VA, Shaun Critzer (Shannon) of Charlottesville, VA, Cassandra Weakley of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Weakley, Nathaniel Weakley, Joshua Weakley of Forest, VA, and Christina Louvier of SC; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Weakley, Jr.; one son, Greg Weakley, brothers, Robert Shaver, Joe Shaver, Arthur Shaver, and Charles Shaver; three sisters, Frances Lowry, Agnes Williams, and Lottie Hurtt.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapels with Rev. Michael Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone at The Laurels of Charlottesville for taking such good care of Lucille. Dr. Jonathan Evans and the entire staff treated Mom with dignity, respect, grace, and love and we will never forget their kindness and support; and New Century Hospice for their compassionate care.
