Earl Bobby Minor's Obituary
Deacon Earl Bobby Minor, aged 72, of Stevensburg Virginia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born December 12, 1942 in Culpeper County, VA to the late Broadus Minor, Sr. and Janie Newman Minor.
Earl was a member and Deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church in Culpeper under Pastor Timothy Minor. Prior to joining Shiloh, Earl attended Free Union Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. Earl Minor was no stranger to hard work, and was sure to impart his work ethic, morals and values, to his children, grandchildren and all he encountered. He spent his entire adult life working in construction and landscaping, and would later go on to establish E.B. Minor Construction Company, specializing in building and home services. When not working, Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed singing and always took pride in his appearance.
Earl married Josephine Walker-Minor as a young man; from that marriage 3 children were born: Earl Bobby Walker, Timothy Minor and Terry Minor. Earl would later marry Ruth Ann Minor, producing Devon and Mary Minor from that union.
Earl B. Minor is survived by his children, Pastor Timothy L. Minor and wife, Beverly of Culpeper; Devon Minor of Fredericksburg; Michelle Queen and husband, Thomas of Culpeper; three stepchildren: Joseph Walker of Culpeper, Cyndi Griffith of Norfolk and Dwayne Jones of Louisa; one brother, David Minor; and his previous wife, Josephine Minor. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren: Jevelle, Courtney, Marchallo, Tameika, Timothy, Dynasia, Najee, Joseph, Jr. and Shaneil; three great grandchildren, Machallo, II, Jekalyn and Jekyren; one daughter-in-law, Shannon Minor of Culpeper; dear friend, Stacy Settle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by five children, Albert Mack, Earl Bobby Walker, MacArthur Mack, Terry Minor and Mary Minor; seven siblings, Broadus, Benny, Willie and Harrison Minor, Anna Lee Turner, Georgia Cottoms and Helen Mae Washington; and his late wife, Ruth Ann Minor.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 3 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Timothy Minor officiating; interment will follow in Free Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
