Born on August 11, 2008, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Dylan lived a life full of energy, smiles, and laughter. He was a senior at Spotsylvania High School, where he made a lasting impact amongst his classmates and teammates.
Dylan was a proud three-year member of the school’s wrestling program, and a member of the Knights baseball program for two seasons. Whether on the mat or the diamond, Dylan was known for his drive, resilience, and team-first mentality.
Beyond sports, Dylan will be remembered for his spirit, his friendships, and the way he brought people together. He had a presence that could lift others up and a heart that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Dylan was an extremely independent young man, who worked hard - first job was umpiring for Spotsy Parks & Rec, cutting grass with his Pop Pop, and most recently working at the Cove on Lake Anna.
Dylan is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Melissa and Patrick Holland; his father, Steven Stanley; his brothers, Collin and Spencer; his sister, River; and stepbrother, Drake.
He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Debbie Stanley (aka Nana and Pop Pop), and his maternal grandfather, Wes Simmons; and loving aunts and uncles, Rene Harper (Bobby), Sabrina Elliott (Scott), Barbara Newman, Wesley Simmons, Tracie Casey (Dennis), and Allison Johnson (Josh); and first cousins, Brittany, Rylie, Haylie, Kyle, Hunter, Addison, Calvin, Baylie, Brady and Chase.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Donna Simmons. Nana now has her Sour Patch Kid.
He is also remembered by extended family members, teammates, coaches, and countless friends whose lives he touched.
Dylan’s memory with his countless nicknames, mainly “Dilly Boy” will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A service to celebrate Dylan’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Stevenson Ridge, 6901 Meeting St., Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the “Spotsylvania High School Varsity Wrestling program” in Dylan’s honor.
