Lisa - was going to put this as a memory……..
I remember making a trip from our home in Florida to Virginia to visit Grandma Tasker with my now deceased husband, Phil Tasker, along with two of our little children. After arriving, we learned that Uncle Doug was at a tractor pull. We went to the event, Phil spotted Doug leaning at a fence, so Phil slid in next to him, giving Doug an ornery push. Doug quickly turned towards Phil not knowing what to expect, when he saw it was his nephew. They hugged and enjoyed some time together. I believe Phil had great family admiration for his Uncle Doug. Hopefully, they’ve already enjoyed a great heavenly reunion! ❤️
I remember how good of a man he was! I remember visiting Aunt Cathy and Uncle Doug in Falls Church every weekend with Grandma. He would be out in his gardens. I would go out there with him. He would let us ride on the tracker. I also learned not to pick up plastic cups around him lol.
Sorry to hear about Mr. Tasker passing. I always enjoyed talking with him whenever I came home to Culpeper.
I'm also forever grateful for the help and being there for my parents Bernard and Christine Corbin.
I remember once shoveling snow in my tennis shoes and Mr. Tasker coming up with a snow blower. He then pointed out in a laughing manner that I had the wrong shoes on for the mission.
RIP Mr. Tasker!!
