Douglas Wayne Spicer's Obituary
Douglas Wayne Spicer, 85, of Brightwood died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born July 14, 1928 in Crossville, IL son of the late James and Bertha Elliott Spicer.
Mr. Spicer was a retired veteran of the US Army. After his military career he continued to serve his country by protecting the border of Texas and Mexico working with the State of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission as well as inspecting the import and export of related items.
He is survived by many extended family located throughout the country, and many great friends at the Madison Senior Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jenkins Spicer.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Madison Senior Center “Flag Pole Fund”, 1480 N. Main St., Madison, VA 22727.
