Carolyn, Steve, and Scott - so sorry for your tremendous loss. Doug was a true friend and a true inspiration to Pat and I when were neighbors in Manassas and later on in Nokesville. Doug (an Airline Pilot) was what I would call an unsung hero. I remember on one occasion in particular after Pat and I had the shell of a house built in Nokesville and were going to finish the inside ourselves and (being newby's) didn't know where to start; well Doug did. He came over with hammer in hand and started installing our kitchen cabinets. Well that's where we started. Doug did kind deeds like this on several occasions throughout the many years we knew him.
