Dottie Pickerel Elliott's Obituary
Dottie Pickerel Elliott, 84 years old, Culpeper, Va, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 16.
She was preceded in death both by her husband of 49 years, Cecil D. Pickerel, and her husband, Charles "Chuck" Elliott, Sr. who died just last month.
She is survived by her four children, M. Kirk Pickerel, (Roger Martin), Rancho Mirage, Ca, and his daughter, Elizabeth Shumate, (Matt); Keith Pickerel, (Hank Londner), Alexandria, Va; Kim Hicks, Culpeper, (Steve), and their children Andrew, (Mallery), Ann Elyse, and Adam; Kelly Pickerel, Richmond, Va, and two stepchildren Chuck Elliott, Jr., (Jean) and Pat Eggborn, (Jimmy), all of Culpeper. She is also survived by her brother, Glen Dodson, North Myrtle Beach, S.C. her sister, Peggy Hitt, of Culpeper, and many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Dottie grew up in Bassett, Va, but lived most of her life in Culpeper. She built a career as a very successful Tupperware manager, and was recognized nationally as one of the company's most highly ranked salespersons. She managed her own sales team, called the "Tupajets", which also received many national sales awards. In her later years, her greatest joys were derived from relishing the time spent with her family and friends, and enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountain views from her home with her new love "Charlie". She often commented that she had lived a very blessed life in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Grotz officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
