Dorothy W. Hoffman's Obituary
Dorothy W. Hoffman, known to many as “Dot” or Mama Dot”, 80 of Griffinsburg died on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 17, 1928 in South Boston, VA to the late William A. Watson and Gladys B. Watson.
Mrs. Hoffman was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Salem Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an educator for 26 years retiring from Culpeper County Schools. Dot was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker.
She is survived her husband and love of her life of 59 years, Jimmie Hoffman, her sons, Bill Hoffman and his wife, Debbie of Catlett, and Randy Hoffman and his wife, Debbie of Culpeper, her daughter, Libby Ouellette and her husband, E.J. of Griffinsburg.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Cathy Uribe and her husband, Gil of Griffinsburg, Samantha Cassedy and her husband, Keith of Woodbridge, Joe Ouellette and his wife, Jackie of Alexandria, Jay Hoffman and his wife, Kacey of Odenton, MD, Justin Hoffman and his wife, Jenn of Culpeper, Jordan Hoffman of Culpeper, Steven Hoffman of Culpeper, Alex Hoffman and his wife, Debbie of Culpeper, and Richard Hoffman and his wife, Ashley of Culpeper, four great grandchildren, Brandon Cassedy, R.J. Uribe, Addison Hoffman, and Brody Cassedy, and cousins, Carroll Seat and his wife, Grace of South Boston, VA. and Mary Strother Alphin and her husband, Bill of Griffinsburg, VA.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Martin and Rev. Chad Whaley officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
