Dorothy L. Reuwer-McIntyre's Obituary
Dorothy Lee Reuwer-McIntyre “Nana”, 73, of Rixeyville went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born August 24, 1934 to the late Albert W. Pullen and Ollie Mae Settle Pullen.
Dorothy loved the Lord and was a member of Griffinsburg Baptist Church. She owned and operated Reuwer’s Grocery for over twenty years. Her hobby was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie S. Hawkins and her husband, Jack, three grandchildren, Jackie S. Smith, Joseph E. Hawkins, Jennifer L. Haynes and her husband, Jeffrey, five great grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Smith, Makayla Hawkins, Eric Lindsey, and Jack Ethan Haynes.
Additional survivors include her brothers, Albert J. Pullen, MacArthur Pullen, and Scott Pullen, four sisters, Sallie M. Whitlock, Nelly L. Settle, Margie A. Minor, Laura R. Jenkins, three stepchildren, Melissa Miller and her husband, Allen, Belinda Heflinger and her husband, Lee, and Kenneth McIntyre, Jr., several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and family and friends that will miss her greatly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Joseph Reuwer of 33 years, two infant sons, Theodore Joseph Reuwer, Jr. and Joseph Theodore Reuwer, her second husband, Kenneth J. McIntyre, and her grandmother, Maggie Lee Settle.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons with Pastor Bob Rooper and Pastor John Burke officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery (Old).
Pallbearers will be Jeff Haynes, Chris Miller, Donald Whorton, Tommy Settle, David Smoot, Charles Jenkins, Clyde “Curley” Pullen, and George Settle, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be in her name to the Boys and Girls Club
